Obama, Merkel agree not to ease sanctions against Russia

U.S. President Barack Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday discussed the situation in Ukraine and agreed not to ease sanctions against the Russian economy, until Moscow had fulfilled all of its Minsk commitments.
This is stated in the official press release of the White House, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"The two leaders agreed on the need for full and prompt implementation of the three Minsk agreements in order to reach a lasting and peaceful resolution to the conflict," the U.S. President administration stressed.
At the same time, Obama and Merkel "reiterated their agreement that there will be no easing of sanctions imposed on Russia until it has fulfilled all of its Minsk commitments."
The parties also stressed the importance of "providing economic support for Ukraine as it implements necessary reforms," the White House stressed.
