In January our European partners will engage in activity to ensure integrated management of Ukrainian borders

By October 30, the SFS and the EU delegation in Ukraine should coordinate and sign a cooperation agreement in the framework of Twinning project (integrated border management) to begin its implementation in January of 2016. This was stated by Chairman of the SFS Roman Nasirov during a meeting with a delegation of the financial and customs authorities of Germany, Poland and Lithuania.

"This is a new form of direct technical cooperation among the authorities of our countries. The defining feature of Twinning projects is the exchange of specific experience in a particular public regulation area to ensure implementation of the EU norms and standards", said Roman Nasirov.

The project envisages long-term consultations on a daily basis among representatives of the SFS and experts from a partner country, led by a permanent project advisor.

"The principal tasks that we plan to solve with the support of our European colleagues, are to modernize the legislation in the field of integrated border management and to establish an effective system of combating corruption", stressed the SFS Chairman.

This project shall ensure the implementation of Ukraine's commitments in the customs area in compliance with the EU - Ukraine Association Agreement.
