Ukraine state emergencies service reports more than one million registered displaced persons

According to current data available at the state service for emergency situations of Ukraine there are about one million internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and 21, 642 people from Crimea.

Chief specialist at the department of civilian protection of the service Pavlo Pachkai told a presentation of a special card for obtaining services for internally displaced persons (IDPs), Ukrinform reports.

"According to unofficial information, Ukraine has about 1.5 million displaced people. There are objective reasons why it is impossible to release the exact figure - people do not want to get registered as internally displaced persons, and the second reason is that the wave of displacements has not stopped," noted Olha Savchuk, a public activist.
