Chubarov says Crimean status and legal mechanisms for Tatars his main priority

Status of #Crimea and legal mechanisms to ensure wellbeing of #Crimean_Tatars residing on the occupied peninsula is a top priority, leader of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, MP (Petro Poroshenko Bloc fraction) Refat Chubarov has stressed.

"As to me, Crimea today in its current situation is an evidence of hopelessness of its development during 23 years of Ukrainian independence. Two years of occupation prove it. Today, Crimea is a big test for Crimean Tatars. That is why the number one task for me is the Crimean status, as well as legal mechanisms necessary for the development, livelihood of Tatars, currently residing on the peninsula," Chubarov said while speaking at the International forum 'Crimea Belongs to Ukraine. Annexed Peninsula Between Past and Future', the press service of the Petro Poroshenko Solidarity Bloc reported.

According to Chubarov, the current situation in Crimea is "also a big test for the international community and the entire structure of international organizations, which should learn their lessons from this situation and to join efforts in the fight against the aggressor."

"It's necessary to understand that it is only together that we will win," Chubarov outlined.
