President: Return of Ukrainian hostages is the first priority

President Petro Poroshenko emphasized that the return of Ukrainian captives illegally convicted in Russia or retained in the occupied territories was his first priority.
In the interview for Inter TV channel, the Head of State said that he would prefer not to call any dates, surnames or make promises.
“I can say that according to the preliminary agreement, we can count on the return of Hennadiy Afanasyev and Yuri Soloshenko,” the President noted.

Petro Poroshenko also emphasized that all resources were used to return 25 other Ukrainians held captive in the occupied territories. Particularly, Ukraine holds negotiations in the Trilateral Contact Group and in the Normandy format. “We are on the home stretch concerning the terms and conditions of their return,” he informed.
