Today we have all grounds to
consider that Ukraine and Hungary begin a new history of rapprochement and
deepening the bilateral cooperation. This was stated by Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr Groysmanduring a meeting with activists of the
Ukrainian community of Hungary.
"Today we have a reason
to consider that we are starting a new history of rapprochement and deepening
of our cooperation. I sincerely rejoice in this, because I believe that with
such a great country like Hungary, which we share a border with, have warm and
friendly relations, have a large national minority in Ukraine, we just have to
effectively develop these relations", Volodymyr Groysman said.
Commenting on the results of
the official visit to Hungary Prime Minister stressed its effectiveness and
concrete achievements. So, following the meeting with Prime Minister of Hungary
Viktor Orban a number of agreements were signed, in particular the
implementation of joint infrastructure projects, cooperation in the fields of
finance and sport.
The Ukrainian-Hungarian
business forum is opening tomorrow designed to combine the economic
opportunities of countries. There is great potential for bilateral cooperation
in this area, the Head of the Ukrainian Government says.
According to the results of
the bilateral meeting the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban said
that visas for Ukrainians of category "d" will be issued free of
charge, Volodymyr Groysman said.
"This is a good step
towards the Ukrainians," he stressed.
He also noted the consistent
position of Hungary regarding the support of the territorial integrity of
Ukraine and the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU, as
evidenced by the talks, in particular with the Chairman of the National
Assembly of Hungary Laszlo Clovera. The parties also discussed the issues
of protection of rights of national minorities in the countries.
The PM spoke with the
Ukrainian community of Hungary about the situation in Ukraine and the actions
of the Government for reforms in the country.
Volodymyr Groysman presented
awards to a commemorative medal "25 years of Independence of Ukraine"
to a senior lecturer of the Budapest University Victoria Lebovics, a head
of the self-administration of Ukrainians of Nyíregyháza town Judith Soflens and
a lecturer of the Ukrainian language of University of Szeged, a head of the
self-administration of Ukrainians Szeged town Natalia Sajtos-Zapotoczny.
